Who We Are
Maidensgrove Group Riding for the Disabled Association is an independent local Charity, affiliated to the national Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving.

Where We Are
We hire ponies from, and hold our riding sessions at, The Grove Equitation Centre, Lane End, High Wycombe, Bucks. HP14 3NP ("the Grove") - see Location
Our History
Our Group was founded in 1978. We were then based at Maidensgrove Farm, near Henley-on-Thames. In 1983, we moved about 4 miles to Turville Valley Stud, Turville, where we spent 18 successful years, before moving to the Grove. We became an independent Charity (Registration No. 1074410) on 25 February 1999.
What We Do
We enable children and adults, who have disabilities, to ride a horse, under qualified instruction, leading to RDA Proficiency Tests and Achievement Awards. We aim to combine a friendly, happy atmosphere with positive forms of therapy and tuition, tailored to each Rider's individual capability. We find that they obtain great enjoyment from this and, perhaps, the key benefits of improved self-confidence and pride in their achievements.
Who Helps Us
We have a marvellous team of about 45 Helpers, whose principal role is to help the Riders. There are also Organisers for each session, and qualified RDA Instructors (we are fortunate to have 4) who use much ingenuity to organise different teaching activities and games.
Everyone gives their time, voluntarily. Would you consider joining us? To find out more and how you might help, see Volunteering.

Places and Timings
The Grove has indoor and outdoor schools and a ride-out through fields and woodland and along private drives.
Our sessions are divided into 3 terms, during the year, with breaks for Christmas, Easter and during the Summer. At present, we have 5 weekly sessions, as follows:
Tuesdays - 10.30, 12.45 and 14.00
Fridays - 10.00, 11.00 and 12.45
